General Motors Recalls Enclave, Traverse and Acadia for Wiper Problem

If you own a 2011 or 2012 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, or GMC Acadia (pictured), and you live in a region of the country that regularly sees ice or snow in the winter — well, maybe not this winter — your dealer would like you to bring your crossover SUV in to get the wiper arm nuts tightened. The problem is that if snow or ice builds up on the windshield or the wiper arm, the wiper arm could loosen and then stop clearing the windshield of snow and ice. This, in turn, can restrict visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

Dealers began making repairs yesterday, April 16. The GM safety recall campaign number is 12036, and if you have additional questions, you can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 1-888-327-4236.
