Mercedes-Benz E-Class 4Matic Wagon Recalled for Rear Suspension Problem

If you’re driving a Mercedes-Benz E350 4Matic Wagon that was built between July 1, 2006 and April 30, 2009, it might be one of 3,613 examples recalled for a possible rear suspension problem. In these vehicles, a connecting rod for the rear self-leveling suspension could fail, leading to reduced vehicle control and increased risk for a crash.
To resolve the problem, your local Mercedes dealer will replace all of the rear suspension connecting rods, free of charge. The recall is expected to get underway in August of 2012, and all impacted owners will be notified by Mercedes-Benz. Call Mercedes at 1-201-573-0350 with concerns, and reference NHTSA Campaign ID number 12V264000. Alternately, contact the NHTSA directly with questions at 1-888-327-4236.
